Dedza is the highest town in Malawi and Dedza mountain, reaching up to nearly 7,000 feet, forms the backdrop to Dedza Pottery. It is a beautiful and unspoilt environment in which to create, and great care is taken not to cause any environmental damage in the pottery operations. The pottery was started, as a private business, in 1987 by Chris and Charity Stevens. Dedza Mountain forms the backdrop to this attractive lodge which is situated in beautiful gardens within the grounds of the famous Dedza Pottery, known both for its handmade pottery and for its coffee and cheesecake. This piece of paradise is situated on its own secluded sandy beach 12 Kms South of Nkhotakota Port on the Shores of Lake Malawi. The lodge has been built between the mature indigenous trees and all chalets are right on the beach with stunning lake views. It is a small friendly lodge with 2 traditional thatched rondavels 2 spacious superior chalets, 2 deluxe chalets and 4 deluxe plus chalets which make NSL one of the most luxurious lodges anywhere on the lakeshore.
