2012 Pottery Courses - Dates and Fees

Course Summaries

All visitors are met at the airport by the pottery vehicle. A visit to Dedza Pottery is included in all the courses and most courses have the option to come for 2 or 3 weeks. The 3 week course we feel is ideal as it provides time to make pots, relax, go on safari and there are enough free days within the course to see some of Malawi . However for those who cannot get away for longer the 2 week option includes all the making, decorating and firing methods outlined in the course details and guests would still have the chance to see some of Malawi , and take a one day safari, or cultural tour.

We run 4 or 5 scheduled courses each year as shown below, however many guests are taking advantage of our “CHOOSE YOUR OWN DATES” option. We can run any course at almost any time, and can also adjust the length of the course for the convenience of guests. For a single guest there is an additional charge of £60 for non-scheduled dates, but if there are 2 or more guests there is no additional charge.

There are 4 options available on each course:-

The Standard Course Fee  includes:- airport transfers from Lilongwe International Airport , accommodation in en suite chalets, all meals, tuition, pots and packing as shown below, a visit to Mua Mission Museum and an all-inclusive visit to Dedza Pottery with an overnight stay at Dedza Pottery Lodge. The Standard Course Fee does not include air tickets..

•  The Standard plus Flights includes all of the Standard Course plus a return air ticket from London to Lilongwe , Malawi.

•  The Standard plus Safari (3 Week Courses) includes all of the Standard Course plus an all-inclusive 4 day, 3 night Safari in one of the riverside lodges at South Luangwa National Game Park, in Zambia.    Everything, except drinks, is included.   Transport from Malawi, Safari accommodation, all meals during the trip, park entry fees, and 4 game viewing drives of about 4 hours; two in the morning and 2 starting in the late afternoon and, after sun downers overlooking the river, 2 very special hours  during the African night.

•  The All-inclusive Course Fee includes all of the Standard Course plus the all-inclusive Safari detailed above, plus a return air ticket from London to Lilongwe, Malawi.

The cost for packing pots in a box of up 44cms x 36cms x 44cms, which can be checked in at the airport or sent by post or airfreight is also included in the cost of the course. The actual cost of airfreight or postage for pots, that exceed you baggage allowance would be extra. Please note that it is advisable that pots you take with you on the plane should be within your baggage allowance as excess baggage is very expensive. If you will be significantly overweight then it is best to have the excess sent by post or airfreight. Our Sales Staff will be able to advise the cost.

PRICES:- The fees shown below are estimates given in good faith. It is very unlikely that we will change the prices for either the pottery courses or the safaris, and once a course is booked and a deposit paid we guarantee the course and safari prices as those at time of booking. The costs of flights have been given after discussions with the airlines and will be checked before a booking is confirmed. Once a guest has paid in full for a course and flights then we guarantee to hold the prices to those quoted at the time of booking.
